Mission
Terry's mission as founder and CEO of Heaven Sent is to offer a unique shopping service that makes shopping fun and makes your life easy. To get started simply call or e-mail.
How we started
In Nov 2001 Terry Standish launched Heaven Sent locally in Colchester Ct.
She decided to offer a consultative approach to gift giving – helping people solve that age-old- problem of what to give for gifts. She started by designing custom gift baskets that would fit each customer’s needs, including personal delivery and worldwide shipping, allowing Heaven Sent to serve clients worldwide. Terry Standish successfully combined her talents as an artist with her years of retail experience to develop the perfect gifts for hundreds of satisfied customers. She managed to develop a gift company like no other. She did this so well she has become known as the “Giftologist”. See testimonials.
Additional Personal Shopping
In 2006, a new kind of personal shopping was added to include all types of gifts giving. Using the same techniques she successfully used to create one-of-a-kind gift baskets would now include standalone gifts as well, using some of the same wholesalers and retailers, boutiques and specialty shops to gather supplies, as well as new ones, eventually adding crafters to her list of offerings. Heaven Sent has hired equally talented crafters and floral designers to offer a complete custom service. She proudly offers these options in a variety of fields, as well as her own talents.
Shop Together
In Sept 2007, she officially launched the newest addition to her services, which became her “shop together” method. Terry had received requests from clients to take them shopping. They admired her attention to detail and recognized her ability to create original fashion choices, which were her own. Her styles were timeless and original. Since Terry has years of retail and fashion background, she began accepting these requests to go shopping together.
Retail Background
Since Terry was a child, she had a keen eye for fashion with an ability to coordinate and develop her own sense of style based on her mood. Others depended on this, and it gained Terry her first retail job. While helping her Mom find the right pair of shoes, the manager offered her a job on the spot at age 17. On another occasion, a store manager recruited her (at age 18) after Terry successfully assisted her to find the right accessories. At the age of 21, she was promoted to store manager of The Dress Barn, which was one of the highest generating stores in the company, located in West Hartford, CT. After seeing how natural it was to her, others have continued to recognize her talents and have requested her help to take them shopping. Many have taken advantage of her artistic taste and her 9 years of fashion experience assisting customers, setting up store windows and merchandising displays for large retailers.

Whether it’s a meaningful gift, the perfect wedding gown, shower registry, gift baskets, flowers, clothing, home furnishings, party favors, antiques and/or collectables, Heaven Sent personal consultants can take care of all your shopping needs.
